Healthcare, Infrastructure, Water, Education
Outline India undertook a pilot study to explore the potential of geo-spatial data and the use of geospatial technology in social research.
The study was undertaken at Bhora Khurd, a village located near Manesar, where alongside the conduction of a household survey, drones were used to produce detailed images and an elevation profile of the geographical space. For the household survey, 107 respondents were selected through random sampling, to study the availability of and access to basic infrastructure services (including healthcare, education, water and sanitation), assess the socio-economic profile of the members, their access to basic infrastructural services and their perceptions of major problems in the village. Following this, correlations were established between social stratification and access to infrastructure basic resources.
