Dr Nidhi Pasi

Senior Consultant - WASH



Nidhi comes with over 14 years of experience in the development sector in the thematic areas of WASH, waste management, and NRM; working across non-profit organizations, think tanks, academics, government, and consulting organizations. She has led multiple complex multi-stakeholder projects spanning responsibilities ranging from conceptualization, financial planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, training, business development, and partnership management. Nidhi brings on board rigorous experience in qualitative research, research processes, documentation, M&E, and knowledge management. She also has extensive field experience of working for projects across both rural and urban regions in India in nearly 15 states. This comes as an added advantage in the development of research design and ME assessment frameworks. 

Nidhi is currently working as an independent Consultant on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) issues undertaking research, monitoring and evaluation, and strategy development assignments. She also serves as an Advisor at the Indian Pollution Control Association IPCA on waste management and is responsible for business development, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge management. In her previous work at WaterAid and Centre for Science and Environment, she worked extensively on decentralized water/wastewater management and WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene). At WaterAid, she independently developed and managed research on WASH in both urban and rural contexts to generate robust knowledge and evidence for supporting policy advocacy and programming strategies to strengthen WaterAid’s position as a key WASH sector player. She was responsible for work on watershed development and water security, hygiene and behavior change, school WASH, fecal sludge management, disaster risk reduction and WASH, climate change, urban and rural WASH issues, water quality, and WASH in health care facilities; using the lens of rights, gender, equity and inclusion. 

She has a doctorate in Environment and Natural Resources Policy from the State University of New York- College of Environmental Science and Policy (SUNY-ESF), Syracuse, New York. She also has a Masters in Public Administration specializing in Environment Policy from the prestigious Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University, New York.
